Jessup are providing the labour and machinery to enable a local Scout, Beaver and Explorer group to create a wildlife pond and garden at Bucklands End Birmingham. Partners Waterloo Housing Association is providing the funds to buy the materials required.
Jessup is redeveloping the Bucklands End site for Waterloo Housing Association in partnership with Birmingham City Council; now in its sixth year this development is the most impressive and important housing improvement in the city today.
The Scout Group will transform around 300 square metres of disused land into a haven for birds, butterflies, bats, frogs, insects and other creatures.
John Davies, leader of the group said, “This is fantastic news for our young people, and will really make the most of a big piece of land which is currently not used”. Peter Butler, construction manager at Jessups said, “It’s a great idea and we are pleased to help. It’s nice that the group are keen to be involved in the work, it is very much their project”.
