30 Years Voluntary Service

Dave Williams joined The British Red Cross back in 1978 and in January this year was presented with his 30 year medal.

He was a Youth Leader in Wantage Oxfordshire and became County Youth Officer after moving to Bedfordshire in 1984. He took the post of Centre Organiser in Bromham (Bedfordshire) and was made a Trustee of Bedfordshire Branch in 1991.

After a move to Shropshire in 1994 he again took on the role of Centre Organiser in 1998 in Shrewsbury and then became Training Officer in 2003.

He has been teaching First Aid for over 20years to members of the public from 5-75 years old. He also had a spell as a First Aid at work trainer.

He has carried out numerous First Aid duties ranging from village fetes, pop concerts at Woburn Abbey and at Shrewsbury Town FC.

In 1993 he was awarded the Bedfordshire Certificate of Commendation and in 1995 the Society’s Badge of Honour for Devoted Service.
