Wayne Hemingway, acclaimed fashion designer and founder of the iconic worldwide fashion brand RED OR DEAD, Delivered the Jessup Lecture at The New Art Gallery Walsall on 16th April 2013.
Mr. Hemingway has now brought his unique design ability to the field of affordable housing and community development. His lecture, ‘From a stall on Camden Market to some of the UK’s most challenging regeneration projects’ was delivered to an audience of Council Leaders, Architects, Housing Associations and other Building Professionals.
He related stories about his experiences from the start of his career in fashion design, to dealing with the many environmental problems he encountered in finding design solutions to some of the UK’s largest high profile award winning environmental regeneration schemes.
This Lecture event coincided with the completion of Jessup’s £65m award winning development at Waterfront South Walsall, a mixed tenure scheme comprising of 322 homes.
The Jessup Lectures are a series of events where leaders of all aspects of the built environment are invited to speak, bringing wider focus to the future of land use and the built environment in the Midlands Region.
