Cannock based developer Jessup is on a mission to develop more affordable housing in the region. At the recent opening of Riverside Court in Cannock, a development of 29 apartments designed and built by the company and sold to South Staffs Housing association for shared ownership, Clive Jessup commented; “It gives us a great deal of satisfaction that we can make such a positive contribution towards affordable housing, allowing first time buyers a practical and stylish start to home ownership though shared ownership schemes”.
Jessup’s have strong working relationships in the Midlands with Registered Social Landlords such as South Staffs Housing Association. The Riverside Court development was originally designed for sale on the open market but
the company recognised the need for more quality affordable housing and utilising their wide housing experience the development secured government funding with strong support of Cannock Council.
The result is that these high specification contemporary homes can be sold as shared ownership, which makes them far more affordable than if they had been on the open market. The Riverside scheme demonstrates clearly that affordability need not compromise good design and build quality proven by the fact that most of these homes were purchased off plan by enthusiastic new owners.
