Talk to Jessup

Young visitors at Buckland End - May 08

Jessup and Waterloo Housing Association recently played host to some VIP visitors at the Buckland End housing development in Birmingham.

The visitors were a group of 31 children from Brownmead School who were very interested in seeing how new homes are constructed. After the children were kitted out with hard hats and high visibility jackets, Jessup site staff gave the children a tour of the site to see homes in various stages of completion. Following this, Jessup bricklayer Martin Ford gave the children a demonstration of bricklaying and encouraged them to ‘have a go’ themselves.

Following this activity the group visited a completed house and after a good look around the property, they all received a goodie bag, before returning to school.

Hopefully the visit has inspired some of the group to make a career in construction!
