TYPE OF WORK
This development was particularly demanding at a community level as we were working alongside occupied homes.
We undertook and funded many community initiatives during the contract period.
OUR ROLE
Jessup worked closely with Birmingham City Council and Waterloo Housing on land assembly for Land Registry and assisted with the development strategy. As principal contractors we were responsible for design, quality and programme, utilising our established local supply chain. All design and technical requirements were undertaken by Jessup. Our challenge was to deliver this traditional sustainable housing concept with efficiency and speed of construction demanded by our clients, with minimum defects.
ACHIEVEMENTS
On each successive phase we were able to improve on the designs and use of materials and pioneering various Modern Methods of Construction. We were awarded Built in Quality Awards in 2008 and 2009 and a Considerate Constructor Scheme National Award 2009.
All phases were delivered on or before scheduled completions, with accolades from Waterloo Housing and their professional agents for our quality of work. Properties were built to Lifetime Homes, Secured By Design, Scheme Development Standards, Housing Quality Indicators, Modern Methods of Construction, Eco Homes Very Good, Wheelchair Housing Design Guide, Category 2, Active Elderly and Smart Homes.
