New well-being apartments progressing well
Work on the Walsall Housing Group’s £5m development of apartments for older people at Waterfront South in partnership with Jessup continues on schedule for completion in March 2016.
Consisting of 44 specially adapted homes for the over 55s, the wellbeing accommodation is designed for older people with specific needs to help them stay independent for as long as possible. The mix of one and two bedroom apartments will be wheelchair accessible and feature wet rooms.
Walsall Councillor Adrian Andrew, Cabinet Member for the economy, infrastructure and development visited the construction site to review progress and to meet new apprentices Charlotte Derry and Brad Dodd.
This WHG / Jessup scheme has enabled apprentices Charlotte and Brad to have the opportunity to look positively at the future and a productive career in the building industry.
In addition Jessup are continuing their policy of utilizing local contractors and suppliers to benefit the local economy and employment.
The WHG wellbeing apartments will provide a fitting conclusion to Jessup’s national award winning Waterfront South regeneration project, which includes apartments, housing and an NHS Birthing Unit.
